What if what happened....
Never really happened at all? What would happen if Lily and James Potter hadn't fought to save their sons life? Or if Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange never spent fifteen years in Azkaban for the torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom? What if it had been Neville Longbottom that Lord Voldemort had marked as his equal on that October night instead of Harry? Would have everything be different for everyone? The answer would be a positive yes it would be different, for almost everybody. October 1981, Voldemort never made the trip to the Potter's residence in Godrics Hollow like everyone thought he would. Instead he made an unexpected trip to the Longbottom's house after their only son. Luckily the Order of the Phoenix made it in time to save Neville, by the time that they arrived it was too late for Frank and Alice. As they were laid to rest a new hero was named and placed in the care of his Grandmother.
Twelve years later Voldemort and his death eaters are still running around and causing terror, with the Order not too far behind cleaning up their mess and trying to stop them but it's not easy for either side. There are eyes in and out of Hogwarts, the eyes of students and teachers. The children of the least and most expected people. Since they were not forced to spend fifteen years in Azkaban prison Bellatrix and Rodolphus have one single daughter whom they named Gabriella. And Being that the Potters were not served an untimely death they have had two other children of their own. Even Sirius didn't spend anytime in Azkaban and married, now with a few kids of his own. Regulus didn't steal the original locket in the cave to help destroy Voldemort and is still living.
Hogwarts is still the absolute safest place you will ever be. Under Dumbledore's ever careful eyes it's hard to to get away with very much. This man seemingly knows everything that goes on. The one thing he doesn't know is how Voldemort is keeping his own personal young ears so well protected. There is a ring leader but they have it set up to confuse their enemies. So while Dumbledore is trying to solve this latest mystery this unknown Slytherin is getting away with harming the other students and possibly working on getting the actual death eaters into the school. Some habits just never die though. Harry and his usual two still end up being in the wrong place at the wrong time and try to prove that something isn't right at Hogwarts. Will they be the reason that the mystery threat is found out or will the threat that they pose be eliminated?
