He could sleep, which is probably why he was in the common room staring into the fire from the nearby couch. Dressed in his pjs, which consisted of sweat pants a black t-shirt. His wand was in his hand as he twirled it, never breaking eye contact with the fire as if it was going to attack him at any moment of time.
Who knows what time it was, but he did know it was after midnight. Anyone in their right mind was a sleep by now. An house elf had left hot coco for him near the table but he hadn't touched it yet. It wasn't until he heard the sound of someone walking down the stairs did he sit up and put down his wand. Turning his head slightly to see if could catch a glimpse of the person walking into the common room.

Sky was still awake. It was impossible for her to fall asleep on a night like this. The moon was full, and she had spent the better part of her evening after dinner on one of the towers. The air was crisp, slightly cold, and after the lights in the dorms starting shutting off, she realized that it was time for her to come inside. Shivering, she wandered out of the tower entrance and down the set of stairs. She wasn't dressed for the chilly October weather, wearing a grey oversized tee that fell off one shoulder, just her black lacy bra underneath, and a pair of black leggings. It was a sleeping outfit, though since she wasn't just in her dorm room, she wore a bra instead of a tank.
Walking along the corridor at night was creepy. She liked the dark, but the shadows cast from the statues in the hallway were frightening. Glancing up at the moon again, she tried to allow a sense of peace flow through her body. That didn't work. She still felt jittery, and wanted to get back to the dorm as soon as possible. Upon reaching the hallway that lead to the dorm, Sky took a deep breath of relief. She would just wander in there, maybe lay on one of the couches and fall asleep. No need to wake up her roommate Rena.
She pushed the door open, and stumbled in. Her shoes in one hand, her other hand keeping the heavy door from hitting her lithe frame. Dropping her shoes on the ground, she wandered over to the couches. She was about to sit down when she saw someone on the couch. Someone very familiar. Mustering a bit of her usual charm, she flashed a quicksilver smile at him. "Hey gorgeous, mind if I sit with you?"

Seeing the blonde walking in, Nate knew right away who it was. He could just breath her in and know exactly who it was. Looking away and clenching his jaw. Maybe she wouldn't see him but then came her voice. Sighing and looking right at her. Merlins, he hated her. After everything she put him through she still had the nerve to opening flirt with him. Nate came to the conclusion that either she was messing with his head...no she was just messing with his head.
But it didn't help that the old feelings coming up as he continued to look at her. "Shouldn't you be up in bed or something?" He asked, not trying to be friendly but quite the opposite. Nate knew he would consitantly run into her, she was in his house after all. "Wouldn't want to cut into your beauty sleep." Yea he was being rude, but could on blame him? She had cheated on him, and he had given her anything she wanted. Looking back at the fire, it was too dangerous to look at her. Something might happen if he did.

He replied in his customary terse fashion, and Sky felt herself wilt a little. Yes, she had hurt him. Badly. But she had regretted it so much afterward. It was part of her personality, run away when things got too tough or too personal. It was surprising that she allowed herself to get so close to him in the first place. And now that he loathed her, she had no idea how to act around him. So she continued speaking with him as if nothing happened, flirting gaily, and generally being herself. But his constant annoyed replies really got under her skin, though she knew she deserved it.
She seated herself without invitation, and rested her head on his shoulder. It felt comfortable, almost natural, to her, but she knew he would probably just move away from her. "I'd give up all my beauty sleep to spend time with you." There was a smile in her tone, and she was simply flirting with him again. How else was she supposed to act around him?
The silence grew around the both of them, and she sighed. He wasn't going to answer her, just try to get her to leave with the silent treatment? Well, she was going to continue to be friendly. It was her fault everything was like this anyways. "Why are you still up?"

His entire body tensed up as she sat down and placed her head on his shoulder. Nate could easily shoved her off, yelled at her, spit at her, jinxed her, and probably use the torture curse on her without regret of being expelled. But he held everything in and forced himself not to look over at her or give any idea that he enjoyed it. The fact that he was tense would probably send off that he didn't like being touched, especially by her. Not anymore.
"Yea?" He asked when she said she would give it all up. "But you rather sleep with someone else in a heart beat?" Tone of voice was cold. Yea he was pouring salt on wounds but he was dangerous to be around when he was mad. Still not looking at her he focused on the pictures on the wall. "Couldn't sleep." He was thinking that she probably now that he had something on his mind, but wouldn't talk about it. Well, not to her at least. "But I think I will go back up to my dorm." Nate started to move so she would stop touching him.

"But you rather sleep with someone else in a heart beat?" Instantly her friendly and warm demeanor was gone, and what came forward was the ice queen. Sky was truely a good person, but when something like this happened to her, she had no idea what to do other than to become... different. "Yeah, that's right. A heartbeat. Maybe less." He had only seen this side of her once, and it was probably the day of their breakup. Not that she had hung around after things ended, but she had certainly not tried to justify herself. 'Who would listen to crazy?' she thought wryly.
"But I think I will go back up to my dorm." Oh, so he was going to try to escape? Her face painstakingly neutral, she offered a smirk to him, and an oddly (for her) slytherin-esque response. "Why are you running away?" A pause, and she continued. "Are you afraid of me?" When he answered his customary 'no,' then she would simply reiterate that he was running away. She made no move towards him, mostly because by his tense posture, he didn't want her around.

Nate should up and shook his head, putting his hand to his head and started to sctrach it. Moving away from her, wand still in hand and very much in a bad mood. Figures she would sleep with someone else. He never asked how many times she cheated on him. Otherwise there would be a lot of dead bodies. Probably good for the guy that she never told him who it was. Nate wasn't one that you would want to cross.
Pausing when she spoke to him and finally turning his eyes towards her. They were filled with hate. "I am not running away. If anything I don't like foul company and you my princess are the worst kind of foul." He said, with a bit of cruel humor in it by calling her his princess. "And you of all people should know how I treat people I consider foul." Which was mostly mudbloods or muggle lovers. "Why would anyone be afraid of you? You put on a pretty face and pretend everything is okay? No darling, that is not how the world works." Pause. "Its not how I work."

"I am not running away. If anything I don't like foul company and you my princess are the worst kind of foul." Sky couldn't do anything but laugh without emotion and stand there. She pretended not to be affected by his cruel words, but unfortunately, it was nearly impossible not to be affected. When he continued his little rant, Sky just pasted on a smirk. "Why would anyone be afraid of you? You put on a pretty face and pretend everything is okay? No darling, that is not how the world works." Instead of actually listening to his words, she managed to tune most of them out to avoid the brunt of his painful insinuations. "How do you work then?" She pretended to be confused for a minute. "Because as I recall, all you ever used as a tool was blind rage." She pretended they weren't talking about 'it.'
Oh, it was a very horrible thing. She had cheated on him. And he had found out. And she had regretted it. "At least my way has a tiny chance of reconciliation." She successfully dominated her ice queen side and slowly fell back into the falsely cheerful Sky. "Don't be angry with me, please. I promise I won't touch you. And I was kidding about the heartbeat thing. That was just... a joke." She sighed, assuming he was still going to be pissed at her. Then leave. Then she would have to be alone, which was something she very much didn't enjoy.

Hearing her question, Nate clenched his jaw. "Do you want actually know the count? The number of people I tortured because you hurt me that badly? Do you actually want the real number?" Nate laughed, it was a cruel laugh. "Blind rage huh? At least I have emotions." He shook his head and walked farther away from her. "And if I recall I never did anything to hurt you or make you feel like I didn't care about you. If thats what you call blind rage then merlin's forgive this boy."
"I don't want us to be friends. I hate people like you." He should had seen it coming but he didn't. He was too smitten with her and his judgement was clouded. "Next time you touch me..." He didn't even bother finishing it because it was a threat. Nate would hurt her and hurt her good if she dared touched him again. He felt like he needed to take a shower or something. "Ha. Ha. Ha" He replied when she said it was just a joke and we walked towards the fire and leaned against the fireplace looking down. He needed to get out of there and quick.

Wide eyed, she looked at him, her gaze incredulous. She had assumed that guys moved on so quickly that everything sped by them, and no feelings ever lingered. For a moment, she felt horrible, and felt a prick of tears behind her eyes. That was one thing she never, ever did in front of anyone. Cry. She hadn't done it since she was a child, crying was something that you kept a secret. And she really shouldn't be pitying herself. It was him that she had hurt. This was completely her own fault, and she deserved every single self loathing thought that crossed though her mind. "I don't believe you." She told him simply. Tortured? She didn't give herself that much self worth. "Are you saying I don't have emotions?" He didn't deserve her yelling at him, so she cut off her question at that.
"I don't want us to be friends. I hate people like you." Well that hurt. But she kept her expression neutral, enjoying the sting that went through her heart. She deserved it. When he threatened her, she decided that she'd had enough. "What are you going to do, huh?" She sauntered towards him, completely forgetting her promise not to touch him. She extended her palm slowly, tantalizingly. "Are you going to hit me?" The rest of her lithe body followed her palm, and she sinuously brought her body to just an inch from him. "Would you hit me?" So close, yet not touching him, she waited for a response, looking up at him through her lashes.
