Paperchains where hanging themselves all around the room, along with an odd assortment of baubles, halloween decorations, candles, balloons and streamers of garish colors. A big handmade banner, which had been a clean white sheet in a previous life, said 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY WHOEVER' in messy red paint and was hanging in the center of the wall amidst all this madness.
Conducting the entire mess like an orchestra, Harmony laying on the floor, hair flowing out around her, legs up against the back of a couch. She hummed to herself and the decorations she was waving into place seemed to move with the music, or perhaps their sense of rhythm came from Harmony's conduction.

It had been a long day and all Emily wanted to do was go to the Luminosity common room and relax, maybe have a cup of chai tea and read a book, just let all the stress from her sister and school melt away. But as fate would have it, something odd was going on in the common room. Emily's eyes widened as the portrait swung open and she saw what was going on. Decorations, for Halloween and a number of other strange things, were flying everywhere, attaching themselves to various places in the room. And a giant 'Happy Birthday Whoever' banner that looked suspiciously like a bed sheet was hanging from one of the walls. Her eyes widened even more and she stepped into the room cautiously. She let out a small squeak as she walked in, having to duck for fear of being hit in the face by a large pumpkin, though real or fake, she wasn't to keen on finding out with her face. She ducked a few more decorations and jumped over what looked like an orange banner slithering across the floor, before she found the culprit.
It was Harmony Harrison, her legs up against the back of one of the couches and her wand out, waving it like she was conducting an orchestra. Emily raised an eyebrow and threw her books on the couch Harmony was behind and looked down at the girl. She didn't know her all that well, just talked a couple of times in the common room. Harmony was a 5th year, so they didn't exactly have the same classes. She cleared her throat and smiled. "Can I ask why I have to fear for my life right now?" She said, eying a bat that was flying dangerously close to her.

Harmony, who had been humming and had her eyes closed (a rather dangerous thing and probably the reason Emily had to fear for her life) opened them and blinked up at Emily a few times as if wondering who she was and why she was here. "Ah! Emily!" She said suddenly and the last remaining decorations rushed about to find places, including the bat which, as it turned out, was made of sugar paper. Harmony flipped herself over into an upright position, her hair flying wildly as she did so, and smiled broadly. "What do you think?? Pretty neat, huh?" She said, blatantly ignoring the fear-of-death she had struck into Emily moments previously. "It's for somebody's birthday!

Emily smiled again as she sat on the couch, looking over the armrest at Harmony. The girl was an odd one, but Emily liked her and enjoyed talking to her, abet the randomness. She leaned forward some and spoke, "Someone's birthday huh? Or you just want to have a reason to create havoc?" She teased. Harmony was known to celebrate birthdays for no one in particular and for...well just cause she wanted to. Emily looked around at the odd decorations and a giggle slipped out. Harmony was so odd, but rather than be annoyed by it, over time Emily had come to find it to be rather endearing. She looked back at the younger girl and smiled. "So other

Harmony feigned shock and waved her wand, causing glitter to fall from the ceiling and landing gently all over them. "I have no idea what you mean, Emily. Everyone is born on a day of the year, so everyday it is someone's birthday. I'd do this everyday if the others didn't yell quite so much."
She grinned mischievously "and then they make a fuss when I don't do it for them. It is a rather vicious cycle. Cake?" She motioned a hand towards a large birthday cake with lots of different numbers iced all over it. Something she liked to call an 'everybody cake', made specifically for people of all ages, though the only difference to normal cake is the numbers.

"I have no idea what you mean, Emily. Everyone is born on a day of the year, so everyday it is someone's birthday. I'd do this everyday if the others didn't yell quite so much." Emily grinned and shook her head. Just like Harmony. But she had heard the others complaining about Harmony's crazy ideas before and though they weren't mean about it, they had politely told her to stop. Though Harmony being Harmony didn't stop, she just kept it to once or twice a week. Emily looked up as glitter began raining over her and blinked as it gathered on her eyelashes. New rule. Don't look up when glitter is falling over you.
As she blinked the shiny stuff out of her eyes, she heard Harmony's cheerful voice again. "and then they make a fuss when I don't do it for them. It is a rather vicious cycle. Cake?" Emily blinked through watery eyes and nearly choked on her laughter. It was the craziest cake she had ever seen, every part of it was covered with numbers and from the looks of it's slight tilt, it was very heavy. Harmony was looking at her and she shook her head as she wiped her eyes. "No thank you Harmony. It looks delicious, but I don't think I could stomach any cake right now." She said this in all honesty, as her stomach felt like it was doing flip flops in her middle.

Arianna had just gotten here a little while ago, she slid into her common room and saw to girls, both older than her, in the room. She stoped and stood at the entrance as the portrait closed. She had her sketchbook in her arms and was standing totally still.
When she finally moved she walked in and sat on the floor in the opposite side of the room, taking out her sketchbook and drawing the room silently. She glanced around and then saw that the decorations were for a birthday and spoke.
"Who's birthday is it?" The 11 year old girl said softly
