It was a warm day for October, the sun was shining and birds were singing. On such days there was the echo of distant laughter, happy smiles that had yet to know the true way of the world. Rory was sat at the base of a tree, leaning against the trunk with her eyes closed, allowing the light that flittered through the leaves to create colors behind the lids. In all truth, she should have been in class. Yet she could not bring herself to even wonder what class she was ditching, such is apathy. In her mind, there was no point in standing in front of a crowd of strangers and introducing herself with fake sincerity; What did these people mean to her? And she to them? No, it did not matter that it was her first day, nor that she had given her word to go to class. What was the point? She'd only get lost anyway.

iggy danson !! It was actually a quite lovely day outside for October. Even though weather never really stopped her Iggy decided that she would go explore the forest, maybe she would bring her magazines out and read under a tree. Iggy read Zoon, the American crackpot rag that was full of conspiracy theories and myths. Iggy loved the magazine and found it interesting unlike most of the other students that attended Salem.
So after collecting all of her magazines, which was a huge stack, into her hands Iggy left her dormitory and set off for the forest. It was a spectacle no doubt seeing Iggy maneuver her tiny four feet ten inch body through the crowds going in and out of the front doors. Not else to mention that the stack of magazines was kind of cumbersome, However people gave her a wide berth because some people thought she was kind of odd. Maybe it was her bright orange skinny jeans or her blue vneck with a green Popsicle on it or the rather large green bow pinned in her long blond hair. Anyway it made it much easier to get outside.
Once outside Iggy made her way to the forest. When she got within the trees Iggy started humming an indistinct tune. Just as Iggy decided maybe she should sit down. As soon as she made the decision something or rather someone caught her foot and sent her flying into the air as well as her magazines. As she laid there on the ground, her magazines fluttering to the ground next to her, Iggy sighed and said with a smile, “Well that was fun.”

Rory yelped as a girl tripped over her leg, which had been stretched out lazily. Recoiling she narrowed her eyes at the girl who, quite frankly, looked like she'd had to get dressed in the dark. "Well that was fun" the girl said, and Rory rolled her eyes. "I'm sure it was, but maybe you should warn the next person you trip over." she retorted in a flat voice, standing up and brushing off her black jeans. As if she hadn't been banking on a reason to 'lose track of time', suddenly theres a flaw in her plan. And it's wearing a bright green bow.

iggy danson !! Well it’s not like Iggy expected to have a warm and fuzzy talk with the person she just tripped over. However the person didn’t have to be rude about it. It wasn’t as if Iggy even saw her because of her massive amounts of magazines that were now scattered on he ground.
Still Iggy hadn’t even bothered to move an inch. Slowly Iggy stood up and began to collect her magazines. As she was bending down to pick up her magazines she decided that she should talk to the girl she tripped over. ”Well I didn’t really see you, so no need to be rude,” Iggy said in her sing song voice. Iggy knew she was talking to a Dissemblance by now because they all were rather rude to her so it was a tell tale sign.
After collecting her massive amounts of magazines she stood straight up to her 4 foot 10 inch height and looked at the girl standing in front of her with her big blue eyes. The girl was probably a year older than her and definitely a Dissemblance, but oddly enough she was new. Salem didn’t get many transfers so when Iggy realized this her face lit up and a big smile splayed across her face.
Honestly Iggy loved new people. It was like finding some brand new treasure. Sometimes new people were uncomfortable or they make a flashy entrance. This girl just looked as if she didn’t want to be there. ”Hey you’re new!” Iggy announced happily, ”I’m Iggy Danson, 5th year Luminosity. Who are you?”

"No shit sherlock!" Rory said sarcastically, crossing her arms over her chest and rolling her eyes. People! People! The befreind you before they tear you to pieces. The annoying thing was they never seemed to realise it either! Rory pondered for a minute. Would it be worth anything for this girl, this Iggy, to know her name? Well, it may shut her up. "Rory." She said simply, in the same flat tone she had before. "Why do you have so many magazines?" She asked, she couldn't help herself this girl was so bizarre, she reminded Rory of one of her old friends parents. Emily Lovegood's mother was a case and a half, Iggy seemed to share quite a few traits with her.

iggy danson !! Well the Rory didn’t seem very happy to have Iggy talking to her. Iggy did have that affect on people though. Usually she made them uncomfortable with her upfrontness and odd behavior. Never the less Iggy didn’t really care what other people thought, and she went on with the conversation, ignoring Rory’s rude tone.
Then there was the matter that she had just asked about Iggy’s magazines. That made Iggy light up even brighter, if it was even possible. Bouncing on the balls her feet Iggy gently placed the stack of magazines down on the ground and picked up the latest one from the top. The title flashed SNITCHES: Magic or Slavery? in big yellow letters and a snitch was zooming around the page as well as a purple flying insect with horns.
”You see its Zoon!” Iggy exclaimed happily with the latest issue in her hand. ”Its really a great magazine, you should read it. It has really interesting stories. I already read this one,” Iggy went on and pointed at the issue in hand. ”Here you should read it! There is a long article on the Snicklekinky that propels the Golden Snitch in Quidditch!” Happily Iggy handed over the copy of Zoon to Rory and grabbed an issue from two months ago and flipped the pages to the spell that could make earwax turn into jello located somewhere in the middle of it.

Rory looked at the cover of the magazine skeptically after Iggy handed it to her. She seemed so out of this world. It was unnerving. And even more unnerving was a feeling in her gut that Rory had deigned to ignore since leaving Britain. "Are you high?" she asked with a hint of amusement. Dropping the monotone had brought out her accent, that of a south-eastern english girl with attitude. Being told it would make her stand out she had opted to hide her natural accent, but the way she talked was nothing compared to this girl, so it seemed pretty safe to stop talking like a robot.

iggy danson !! Even though Iggy was in Luminosity she was a Pureblood and didn’t understand many muggle terms. Sure Iggy enjoyed looking at Muggle contraptions when she could get her hands on them but she didn’t exactly understand the Muggle world. No matter the great marks in Muggle Studies Iggy was good at reading books but it didn’t mean she understood the whole thing.
With a confused look Iggy looked at Rory and pondered on what it meant. For sure Iggy wasn’t floating off the ground, but to be sure she checked her feet. Nope, not floating, her yellow converse covered feet were planted on the ground. Then she looked around her, nope not standing on a mountain or a cliff or anything of the sort. So figuring she wasn’t ‘high’ Iggy said, ”No sir!”
Then Iggy realized that Rory had an accent. An English accent actually. Did that mean she was from Hogwarts? Iggy had heard of Hogwarts and always wished to go see the beautiful castle and the place that Voldy was defeated. So with awe in her eyes she looked up at Rory and exclaimed, ”Did you go to Hogwarts!?![\”

Jesus... The stuff Ellie brought in that time was heavy but this girl must be on something totally different... Rory stopped her thoughts in their tracks, she wasnt going to think about them. She'd made sure she wasn't going to. Her eyes narrowed as Iggy mentioned Hogwarts. "You ask too many questions." She said coldly, thrusting the magazine back at Iggy and turning to go, shoving her hands in her pockets.

iggy danson !! It was true that Iggy did ask many questions, but only because she was so excited that there was a new person in school that could possibly be friends with her. See Iggy didn’t really have many friends, sure some people would talk to her to be polite, but she didn’t really have someone to hang out with. Iggy didn’t really mind but it was a nice idea having a friend.
Before Iggy could say anything about her asking questions so much Rory handed the magazine back to her and turned to walk away. Iggy’s bright happy expression that she had before visibly fell. It was like turning a light off, really bright then just not. ”You’re leaving already?” Iggy asked sadly and looked at her bright yellow shoes. ”Okay.” Iggy sighed and sat on the ground and pulled out another issue of Zoon.

Rory paused and looked over her shoulder at the girl. "Not leaving.." she said slowly, drawing out the words and letting her accent roll them off her tongue. "Just walking. If I go back no doubt I'll have to go to class, and thats not happening." She turned to walk away again but found herself stopping, turning, walking and then plonking herself down against the tree again. "I guess I can put up with you, its better than wandering aimlessly, just dont go off like the bloody Spanish Inquisition all right?"

iggy danson !! When Rory sat down next to her Iggy perked up once again. It was great having company, no matter how unwilling they may be. It struck Iggy that this girl was a Dissemblance and actually being nice to her. Well that was a nice change in pace from the Dissemblances usual attitude toward her. This just made Iggy even happier.
Flipping threw her Zoon magazine she found a nice spell that could change a stick of butter to a cake, yes that was definitely something Iggy wanted to know. After marking the page Iggy turned to look at Rory with her big blue eyes and said, ”No more questions from me!” It was a hard promise to keep because Iggy still wanted to ask questions, and it was obvious by the look on her face.

The familiarity of it. It was almost as if she were back home, she opened her mouth to speak but stopped herself. The words that were about to form were words left behind along with Hogwarts. Yet still, it felt right somehow. This lazy, comfortable way of being. It's not that she let her guard down with Iggy, quite the opposite, she mentally strengthened her defenses, but she lacked the edge that she normally had around others. The walls were still there, but they no longer had archers shooting you down before you could even try.
Rory turned her head to the side and looked at Iggy from a tilted view. The eccentric girl was staring at her with eyes wide. "What?" Rory asked, already preparing herself for the wave of questions. She'd probably not answer, but she wouldn't stop Iggy from asking, somthing gave her the feeling that if Iggy didn't ask, she wouldn't be Iggy.

iggy danson !! The main question that Iggy wanted to ask right now was why Rory was soooo angry. Did Iggy do something wrong? Or was it something totally out of Iggy’s control? And if that was the case then could Iggy help? And if she could help then how? The questions were just flying through her head and when Rory finally spoke the words Iggy’s face lit up with a big smile.
”I was just wandering…” Iggy started but then paused. Was this question too personal? Well either way Iggy couldn’t contain herself much longer and the lack of filter between her head and mouth didn’t help much. ”I was wandering why you are sooooo mad?”
