Sarena entered the dance hall looking fabulous; her hair half up in cascading curls, smokey eye make up, and dark lip color flattered her attractive features. She wore a beautiful emerald dress, black strappy shoes, and silver and emerald jewelry. It was a very Sarena look; beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant. It was her favorite dress she had in her possession.
Entering the dance hall, she was very pleased with the decorations she saw. Dozens of orange and black tables lined the walls, surrounding the sparkling black dance floor. Pumpkins over flowing with candy, model bats suspended in mid-air. Music blasting from somewhere. She smiled to herself, enjoying it's beauty.
She then walked over to the snack table, which was piled high with tons of halloween-type treats. She poured herself some limeade, and looked around. She was early, and there weren't many people there she knew. So she stood there and sipped her yummy beverage, waiting for somebody good to come talk to her.

Jess entered the hall right after Sarena. She was glad to have come back in time for this - the costume she had chosen months before needing to be show around. While her best friend had opted to go for elegant and beautiful - Jess more preferred the muggle approach to Halloween. She was wearing a black, white, yellow and orange combination dress topped with an orange and black hat, orange and white stockings and a lacy petticoat. It was after all Halloween and what did people dress up the most as... witches! She followed Sarena over to the snack table and stood beside her friend as the two of them looked around the room examining the others there. There were a few eager first years as well as some of the students that had helped organize. She was glad to see that she couldn't recognize any students from her house. "Ugh, I thought this would be more exciting, Rena," she moaned. "When are the boys coming? I feel like... getting a little closer to someone tonight." A grin spread across her face as she wondered who she could try and snag tonight.

Sarena turned and looked when she saw her good friend, Jess Walker, had followed her into the dance hall. Her outfit was....well, interesting. Didn't anyone tell her the dress was supposed to be formal?
She chuckled at her friends comment. "What about Mason Stone? I heard he likes you."

Jess smirked when she saw Rena's expression. Someone obviously didn't approve of the dress... ah well, maybe some special punch would lighten her best friend up. Looking around the room, she wondered if anyone else interesting would show up. Would be nice to see her sister too.
"Mason... Mason, Mason, Mason," Jess said tapping her chin pretending not to remember. She knew who he was, of course. He was adorable, albeit a year younger than her, but who around here never really did like a toy boy. "I suppose. He is quite good looking... in a sort of childish way. But never say no to want you can have," Jess said with a smile.
She looked around. He wasn't in the room, which was all the better. He'd arrive and have to make sure that she was having a good time. It would probably not be entirely easy.
"And you? How is it going with you and the boys? Did you find anyone new while I was away?"

Sarena smiled and she felt herself blush. "Yeah, I found someone." she said, casually looking at her nail polish, and twirling a peice of hair around her finger.

"Well?" Jess said taking another sip of her punch. She glanced around the room and pulled a small vial from her bosom and emptied it all into the pumpkin punch. Then she filled herself another cup.
"Tell me about it? Who is he? What's he like? Don't look at your nails like that! I'll find out eventually," Jess badgered. She didn't like how sometimes her friend sat and said nothing. "Come on, talk."

"His name is Eric. He's a sixth year. He's tall, gorgous, and totally sweet. Remember my ex Adrian? It's his younger brother." she said, taking Jess' spiked punch out of her hands and sipping it a few times.

"Eric, Adrian," Jess had to scratch her head in feigned thought to try and remember the names. "Oh, the Whalsh boys!" she exclaimed suddenly and glared at Sarena for taking her drink. She then rolled her eyes and poured herself her own drink. So much better with her own potion in it. Just so long as the teachers didn't have any they'd be good.
"Eric is the younger one," she said and put the two faces together in her head. "He's the cute little one and Adrian's the tall, hunky manly one. Oh, many I should go for him," she said tapping her chin. She knew the rule about not dating a friend's ex, but maybe if she hinted at it Rena would give her the go. And that always did it all.
"I'm so psyched for you, hun," Jess said moving forward and giving her friend a quick hug. "What have you guys gotten up to? Oh my god and how did it start? Oh, dude, and is his brother slash you ex totally in need of a shoulder to cry on?" she asked tapping her own with a smirk.

"Go for him if you want, he's a great guy." Rena said, in response to Jess suggesting she go after him. "But I think he has a thing with Hunter. Not too sure."
She finished Jess' drink, and then ate a few chips before continuing.
"Well, it started off in the common room. I was going to study in the common room since nobody was around, and then Eric was there. We sat on the couch and talked, and then we kinda started cuddling. And he told me he thought I was the perfect girl for him. So I told him that I liked him too.... and we did...stuff." she said, smirking after saying the word "stuff".

"Ugh, Hunter?" she said and rolled her eyes. "With her fake books and stick on eyelashes? Men confuse me sometimes honestly. What's wrong with a perfectly well-built, blonde girl who just wants so fun?" She watched Rena grab some chips and scrunched her nose. She hated chips, plus having bits in her teeth was so not on the agenda for tonight.
"Oh my god, that's so..." she started pretending to be happy. "Like... the beginning just kind of makes me want to throw up a little, but I'm glad... stuff happened. I mean, if he turned out to be all talk and no action, I dunno..." She shook her head and looked around.
"Where is everyone?" she whined.

Sky was certainly ready for the dance. She had picked out the perfect dress and shoes. Neither of them were particularly formal, but that's what she liked about the outfit. The dress was silk, and featured a corset waist that made her own waist look even tinier than it actually was-- which was pretty small to being with. The skirt landed a bit above her knees, and she wore no panyhose-- that sort of thing was so gauche. Anyways, her shoes consisted of lace up black sandals with a wicked spike heel. Little jewelry, except a house pendant on a chain with black beads. She had been feeling a little too sheltered in the past week, and decided to be a little bit more crazy. So she had a fairly decent sized clutch that housed a flask of disallowed beverage.
When she entered the room, the only people who were there were standing around looking slightly bored. She sauntered over to her best friend Rena and a girl named Jess. "Don't we look thrilled." She said by means of greeting. She poured herself a half a glass of punch, then extracted her flask. A little of it went into her glass, the rest of it hovered over the entire bowl of drink. "Wonder what the Academy students would do if they felt a little bit... crazy." She was very tempted to pour the entire thing in, but glanced at Rena, wondering if it was as bad idea as she thought it was.

Hearing high heels clicking through the dance hall, Rena turned to see her best friend, Skylar. She was looking pretty as usual, walking with a graceful confidence. Rena watched her with a smirk on her face as she dumped what looked like firewhiskey into the punch; honestly, it would probably make the night a little more interesting.
"Wonder what the Academy students would do if they felt a little bit... crazy." she heard the blonde say. "Do it Sky!" Rena encouraged.

Even before Rena had said anything, Sky upturned the entire thing into the bowl. "Done." She said with a smirk, innocently raising her brows at the crush of students that had started to fill into the dance hall. Raising her glass up towards both Rena and Jess, she cocked her head to the side and offered a wicked smile. "Here's to a crazy night." With that, she downed the entire glass of mixed drink.

"Hey Sky, did I tell you about me and Eric?" Rena asked, pouring herself some punch, looking around the now full dance hall. Tonight was going to be a goodnight, hopefully.
She wondered what Sky would have thought about her and Eric. Sky was her best friend, but would she think it was wrong of her to date her ex's younger brother?

Jess smiled when Rena's other friend Sky joined them. The two of them had never really talked, taking on other sides of the brunette between them and she felt a grin cross her face at the other girl's outfit. At least not everyone was going to be fancy. Maybe the two of them could rock out later.
Her eyes widened when she suggested tossing her spirit into the punch but shrugged when Rena said she should. She'd already tossed her own potion and judging from the smell of the new alcohol, she wasn't entirely certain what the combination would end up doing. But who knew? It could be fun.
Jess grabbed herself another glass of the mixture tasting a small sip and then moving to a large gulp. The alcohol surely had made the bitterness dissipate for some odd reason.
She rolled her eyes when Rena started on Eric. It was so... cliche and romantic and... blegh! Why couldn't she find someone like that?
