Ehren scowled as he tossed yet another book back into the shelves of the library. He couldn't seem to find what he needed. With another sigh, he plucked another book off the higher shelves, leaning against the shelf and the ladder he was on as he flipped through the book. Ehren hummed quietly as he flipped and he gave a slight grin when he decided that this was a good potions book for his latest assignment.
The tall boy took a step back before his eyes widened in realization and he went plummeting the next 7 or so feet to the ground. Ehren cursed violently before he tossed the book to the ground and righted himself in the air, grabbing a shelf to stop his fall. Of course, he forgot that he was heavier than what he remembered and the shelf fell with him. There was a loud crash and a muffled moan as both the books and Ehren collided onto the ground.
"Ow," he groaned. He looked around and wanted to sink through the floor. At least half the bookshelf he was looking through was scattered both around and on him in the isle. Ehren winced. This will be a pain to clean up.

sarena was trying to study for her charms exam the next day, and thought the library would be the best place to do so. sitting at a table by herself, she had books, paper, and pens scattered all around her. sarena was a good student, and always wanted to do good, but knew how to have fun as well. that was one of her traits sarena took pride in; her good balance of work and play.
she was just jotting down some notes on a peice of paper, when she hear a loud CRASH! a few aisles away from her table. she rolled her eyes. how hard was it to get a book? throwing her pen down, she walked over to where she heard the noise, thinking she would find something amusing.
and to her delight, it was. a tall boy with black hair had been...well...crushed, by a book case, and their were books scattered everywhere. resisting the urge to laugh, she used her wand to levitate the book case and put it back into place. "what the hell happened?" she asked, offering the boy a hand.

Ehren blinked when he heard footsteps and he turned his gaze from the floor towards the person. A pretty brunette was looking down at him with probably amusement. She magicked the bookshelf off him and he sat up, wincing when his muscles protested slightly. Ehren smiled sheepishly.
"What the hell happened?"
"I was getting a book and stepped off the ladder some 7 or so feet in the air," Ehren answered. He scrambled around and picked up the books around him. After gathering a good dozen books, he finally noticed the hand. He smiled sheepishly, remember he was a wizard, re-dropped the books and grasped her hand and pulled himself up. "Thanks,"
With a wave of his hand, he drew his wand and with a quick charm, he levitated the books around him back onto the shelf. After a moment, he waved his wand again, re-ordering the books into their proper places. He picked up the initial book he had dropped to the floor and tucked that one under his arm before turning back around to face the girl.
"I probably interrupted your studying or something right?" Ehren asked. He smiled sheepishly again. "Sorry,"

"yeah, as a matter of fact you did. but it's alright. charms isn't my thing any way" sarena said, akwardly looking around. she had never spoken to this boy before. she knew his name, and that he was in luminosity, but that was all.
"you know, you don't have to use the latter. you can use the summoning charm" she said, trying not to sound too bitchy. she walked over to a shelf of books and began to read the titles, trying to look busy.

Ehren laughed slightly, trying to dispel the awkward air. He didn't think it worked very well. She was looking everywhere but him. Ehren wondered for a moment if he did something wrong; he didn't think so. After all, he didn't think he saw her around or talked to her much. Was she the twin in Bravura? Or the twin in Dissemblance.
"you know, you don't have to use the latter. you can use the summoning charm"
Ah. The one in Dissemblance then. He heard that the twin in Bravura was a lot nicer. Ehren shrugged.
"That's true." Ehren agreed. He smiled before making an additional comment, "I could use the summoning charm to summon all the books in the library with the words Draught of Living Death and get a few books of useless junk or I can manually lookfor the book. Either way I spend time tossing out the useless ones I don't need."
Hm...that sounded a bit rude.

sarena turned and looked at the boy. his comment struck her as kind of rude, but she decided to ignore it. the last thing she needed was a public yelling match, and she was afraid of her temper. she didn't want to end up hexing him.
"the summoning charm is much more useful. it's a little advanced though, i suppose. maybe you haven't mastered it yet. but i thought people in luminosity were supposed to be clever." she said with a smirk. she wasn't trying to be mean. instead, she was trying to test and see if he was capable of witty responses.

Nick watched as his best friend exchanged words with the girl. Of course, he was initially drawn towards the duo from the ever loud crash from a few isles down where he himself was hunting for transfiguration books. But now, he was just watching to see what Ehren would do.
He listened as the girl mentioned the summoning charm and Ehren rebuke her. By the look on his face, Nick would wager that his words hadn't come out the way that he wanted. At that, the girl, Sarena Rockwell his mind placed, turned and smirked at Ehren.
"the summoning charm is much more useful. it's a little advanced though, i suppose. maybe you haven't mastered it yet. but i thought people in luminosity were supposed to be clever." Ah...insult Ehren's intelligence. He stepped slightly out of the shadows and leaned against a shelf. This will be interesting to watch.

Ehren bristled slightly at her slight stab at his intelligence. Didn't he just tell her that the summoning charm was about the same level as manually looking for the book?! A movement from behind her made him look slightly at the area and he felt a grin coming on before he nodded subtly to the other.
"I suppose the summoning charm is useful to someone like you," Ehren started slowly. "After all, the amount of magic you possess might not be enough to summon that many books at once but where as I, when using the charm, might summon more than a few," He smirked slightly.

sarena heard a noise behind her, and turned to look and see another guy behind her. she didn't know him, but judging by his knowing glances with ehren she figured they were friends. but why were they smirking? were they interested in her? or did they find her amusing?
"i posses amounts of magic you could never even begin to think about" she said, which was partly true. she had learned a lot of dark magic. horrible, nasty dark magic. and she didn't want to have to use it on this arrogant luminosity boy. she turned to the other boy, looked him up and down, and decided he was annoying.
"um, a picture lasts longer, freak. why are you watching me?"she said indignantly.

"um, a picture lasts longer, freak. why are you watching me?"
Nick blinked in surprise and raised his left eyebrow. Well, that was certainly not the reaction he was expecting. He had expected a startled scream or something when the girl finally realized he was watching but all he had gotten was an indignant snap. Somehow, this Sarena girl seemed hard to shake up but strangely at the same time, it seemed easy. Perhaps it was hard to startle her but to tick her off seemed easy enough.
Nick frowned slightly when he remembered her words prior to addressing him, "i posses amounts of magic you could never even begin to think about." Usually when people spoke like that, it was either hinting towards heavily dark magic or wandless magic. His fingers wanted to twitch and above Sarena's head, he shot a glance at his best friend before responding,
"I wasn't watching you. I was standing here, waiting to break the two of you up when you decide to duke it out," Nick drawled with a lazy grin.

Ehren felt his temper spike some when he heard the words leave the girl's mouth in regards to his best friend. Nick just blinked and looked at her almost curiously it seemed and Ehren sighed. He looked from Nick to Sarena then back to Nick in time to catch the look he shot him.
To an observer, it seemed like just a glance but for Ehren, who knew Nick since they were practically in diapers, he saw what the look was. It was a plea, a plea to show off. Ehren shook his head and listened with half an ear as Nick spoke, trying to sort his thoughts.
"I wasn't watching you. I was standing here, waiting to break the two of you up when you decide to duke it out," [/b]
"I wasn't going to duke it out with her," Ehren answered automatically. He tucked his book under his arm and ran his free hand through his hair. "It's too troublesome Nick,"

sarena was getting rather annoyed with these tall boys. she could tell they were exchanging glances over her head. what were they planning? to attack her? she'd like to see them try. one bad move, and her daddy would have them expelled.
"i don't think you have the guts do duel with me.
ooc; sorry, suckish -___-

"i don't think you have the guts do duel with me.[/b]
Nick snorted. The magic was humming in his veins now and he actually had to consciously squash down the urge to let the power go. He shoved his hands into his pockets and looked coolly at Sarena, his expression not amused. Dueling with her sounded great at the moment but compared to being expelled from the school was not the greatest thing on his list. Especially not when he was studying for his Potion's Mastery at the same time. To take the test with the words "EXPELLED FOR DUELING" tucked under his belt didn't sit well with him.
He let a hiss of annoyance leave his lips and the books on the shelves rattled dangerously. A book from one of the shelves higher up dropped down and landed with a thump next him. Nick blinked at the noise and cast a fleeting glance at the book before looking back at her.
Well...if they could settle this without throwing spells, Nick finally found that transfiguration tome he had been hunting for.
{{Don't worry about the "suckish-ness". I think its okay.}}

"i don't think you have the guts do duel with me."[/b]
Ehren wanted to swear and swear violently he wanted to. How could a simple situation evolve into near dueling?! ...Oh right. He said something that sounded near rude. Right. He looked down at the book in his arms and scowled at the tome. He blamed everything on this book.
Ehren's head shot back up when he heard the angry hiss leave Nick's lips. He cringed around the eyes when he heard the books rattle on the shelves and he hoped that the other would have some sense of self-restraint. If not, they'd be picking up books for ages; especially if Nick's wandless magic was let loose. A book clattered with a thump to the ground and Ehren half expected the rest of the shelf to follow. Nick just looked at the book and something like recognition lit his eyes.
"Being Expelled isn't high on my list of priorities this year Miss Rockwell," Ehren said firmly.

sarena looked at the book that fell to the ground. was that supposed to scare her? really. she couldn't get over these people. they were nobody, not important. yet they thought they were so cool.
"i don't know why your acting like such an ass, your the one who started this rudeness. i helped you get the bookshelf off you." she said coldly
