Dressed in his student robes, he walked out into the sunny afternoon and down the steps towards the lake. The boy steady walking indicated that he had no sole purpose of where he was going. He was just walking. Running a hand through his hair moving his bangs out of his face but once he put his hands back into his pocket they found their rightful place again. Finally his steps took him off the path and onto the grass that lead down to the lake.
After a few more minutes he finally took a set on a rock that was in the shadow. Facing out to the lake he placed his arms on his knees and looked out. He was glad that it was quite way out here. After a few more minutes of not moving he pulled out a letter from the inside of his robes and started to read it. His jaw tighten a bit and he pulled out his wand slowly and placed the tip at the edge of it. Watching as it burst into flames and dropped it, not caring if the grass underneath would set on fire. Nate was in his own world.

Angie headed out the front doors and was instantly greeted by the cool October day. She had just got her charms exam back, and had been very pleased with her grade. Shuffling through the grass, she headed towards the lake, which was one of her favorite places within the Academys vast grounds.
Once she was in eye-shot of the lake, she saw it sparkling blue surface glimmering in the sunlight. Oh, how she wished she could swim at that moment. It was then that she saw him; a figure dressed in school robes, like herself. And by the looks of it, he was in dissemblance.
Then she noticed he seemed kind of down, and Angie was the type of person who liked to help people. Walking over to the rock where he sat, she tapped him lightly on the shoulder. "You okay?" she asked, smiling.

He was lost in his own little world. Watching the flames of the note below and finally looking up to the waters ahead of him. Nate could only hope that no one else would figure out this, his eye twitched just a bit at the thought of the muggle blood that was running through his veins. No one knew of this besides his family. The letter that had arrived was the only other clue, but at the same time he didn’t like the news it carried.
Hearing a female voice speaking to him and the soft touch of someone tapping on his shoulder, Nate snapped out of his trance and looked around to see a pretty blonde. In that quick second of just looking at her, Nate could already tell which house she was in and possible her year as well. Looking away and nodded his head. “Yea.” Not really wanting to get into details of what was really bothering him. He was usually loud but this was the time where serious Nate came into play. “I am fine.” Looking down and seeing nothing left of the letter besides the burnt grass. Though it was apparent that something was bothering him but he wasn’t going to tell. Twirling his wand in his hand as he continued to sit there.
Then randomly he spoke. “Have you ever been ashamed of something?”

Even though the guy said he was fine, Angie knew he was lying. She could tell by the burnt remains of some kind of letter or poster, curled up on burnt bits of the grass. She took a seat next to him, feeling drawn to him for some unknown reason. But Angie was the kind of girl who went with her instincts. And this boy was attractive; dark, mysterious. Angie was the kind of girl who liked the mysterious bad-boy type.
"have you ever been ashamed of something?" she heard him say. She stared at the beautiful water for a minute. She then paused, and drew in a breath. "Yes, of course." she said. "You know, you can tell me about it.... I don't judge.

Feeling the girl taking a seat next to him, Nate didn’t care. He was still thinking over things, his eyes kept looking up at the water and then down at the remains. Hearing her response to his questions made him crack a smile a bit. “But we already are judging.” His eyes turned away from the water and the burnt remains of the letter to face the pretty blond sitting next to him. “We already judge each other.” He smirked and then shaked his head to clear any thoughts.
Turning his head back to the water, “Being ashamed doesn’t make you a bad person? But what if it is being ashamed of someone you know? Like the disgrace you or something?” He was trying to get advice from this girl that he didn’t even know her name. But he wasn’t giving away too much of the details of his little secrets. Secrets were the sole reason to live, wasn’t it? Without them were would everyone be in the world? ‘Chaos of course.’ Thinking to himself.

Angie thought for a moment as he spoke about how they were already judging each other. She didn't exactly know what he meant by this; judging by looks, judging by house? Either way, none of those things really mattered to the blonde. Although, she was sort of attracted to this guy, and she didn't even know his name.
She was flattered that he was starting to open up a little; Angie just had that effect on people, and it was something she was proud of. She liked to help people who were in need. "Feeling ashamed doesn't make you a bad person. I mean, you could always try to but yourself in the person your ashamed of's shoes. Can they help the thing that makes you feel ashamed?"

Hearing her response he wanted to laugh, but he didn’t. Being in the other person’s shoes. Now that would be a nightmare and a half. There would be no way that Nate would even consider being in her shoes. His eyes looking down at the letter that had her writing in it. He shook his head ‘no’ that they couldn’t help it. But Nate could change that. It was simple as 1,2,3 but it would also have severe punishment if he found out.
Twirling his wand in his hands a bit more and continued to stare out into the water. His mind drifted from his darkest thoughts to the girl sitting next to him. Better just ask for her name otherwise he would keep saying ‘hey you’ or ‘blonde’. Neither didn’t seem like a very good idea. “What is your name?” Asking, without looking at her and kept his stare on what was in front of him. He couldn’t understand on why he was so calm. ‘Stupid letter’, he thought to himself. But decided that he didn’t want to think about it anymore. The thought just pissed him off and he didn’t want to get upset about it.

"Well if the person can't help it, then why are you so ashamed? Is this someone yo u care about?" she asked, noticing his habit of twiriling his wand. She smiled a little. She did that too, when she was nervous, or thinking about things.
"And I'm Angelina Rosalie Maxwell, but you can just call me Angie." she said, with a small laugh, because of how corny she sounded. "And yours?

His jaw clenched tightly when she was asking more questions. He started to regret even asking a random person questions that were almost too personal. Sighing, “No. I don’t care about this person.” He said it with no regret in his voice but he didn’t know how he truly felt when he said it. “If I did then the letter wouldn’t be ashes now.” He turned his head towards her as she introduced herself.
Taking in her name but knew he wouldn’t remember the whole thing right away. “Nathan Russo.” He said back when she asked for his. “Can call me Nathan or Nate. It doesn’t matter much to me.” Nate said and looked over her once. “What brought you out here?” Finally more aware of his surroundings and looked around, sitting up straight as he was doing so. He pocketed his wand and moved his bangs out of his face, but they fell back.

Angie saw his jaw tighten, and felt bad for asking so many questions. Maybe it was too personal for her to know about, maybe he just didn't want to talk about it. But maybe he needed to talk about it. All Angie wanted to go was help this guy; he looked absolutely miserable.
"Nate sounds good." she said, playing with a blonde lock of hair, twirling it around her finger. "I came out here because the lake is one of my favorite places on school grounds. It's so pretty, and peaceful." she said, watching as his bangs fell back in his face, admiring his mysterious atractivness.
A rush of wind swooped through the grounds, down to the lake, and blew the ashes away. Angie watched them go, a few sprinkling over the blue water. "Do you want to tell me who that was from?" she whispered.

Nate had to agree with one thing. The lake was peaceful. Probably one of the reasons he found himself here more and more often. Feeling the wind picking up, Nate looked over at the remains of the letter and smirked a bit. Now it will be forever lost. “My parents.” He said simply answering her questions without thinking twice about it. Technically it was from one of his parents but he didn’t want to go into all that. He was ashamed that he was half-blood, because he did believe that only pure-bloods should be superior. Then again, he did have a pureblood father so that counted towards him.
Turning his head towards her again, “You know a girl like you shouldn’t be around a guy like me.” He said bluntly, but not wanting to get a slap in the face or anything. “I am not exactly, the “good” student here. Might get detention just by being seen with me.” It was true, especially with the huge hexing spell he just placed near the library which should be going off when the 20th person enters the room. The thought made him smirk. His brown/green eyes looked over at the blonde again, and just watched her.

"My parents". she heard him say. Maybe that why he seemed so sad. Did he have a bad home life? Abusive parents? Angie wanted to know all these things, but after all, she had just met him. Maybe he would answer all of her questions, in time.
Angie pulled her knees up to her chest as another cold gust of air went by, fanning out her blonde curls in all directions. She could feel Nate staring at her, and turned to look at him as well, and felt sparks instantly as her bright blue eyes met his greenish brown. She wanted to look him straight in the face when she answered him.
" I don't care what your labeled as. You seem...interesting to me. Mysterious. I like that. Besides, bad boys always seem the most attractive to me." she said with a small smile. She couldnt believe she had just said that. She was normally outgoing, but very shy around guys.

Raising an eyebrow when she told him that she didn't care and that he was intersting to her. Her last part made him laugh however and he moved his arms so he was leaning backwards putting full weight on them. "I like your bold bluntness." He said to her, also letting her know that he wasn't going to mock her for her words.
"Interesting and mysterious will be the least of your worries if you continue to be around." Speaking from the truth. Nate was highly interested in the Dark Arts and not too many girls would be happy to learn that about him. He hated Muggles and muggleborns. Half-bloods, clenching his jaw again at the thought. Well he hated himself for what he was. Looking back at Angie "Are you cold?"

"Interesting and mysterious will be the least of your worries if you continue to be around." she heard him say, wondering what he was talking about. Was it dark magic? That was something Angie didn't really like, and wasn't familiar with. But maybe she was willing to learn. "What do you mean?" she asked, noticing how the way he was sitting made him look very stylish and at ease.
"And I'm a little cold." she said, as another gust of air went by.

Nate smirked when she asked what he meant. He just shook his head and was silent as he looked back over at her and wondered if she was serious about wanting to know what he meant. "Word of advice. Stay away from the library for awhile." He just said and looked away. The nice guy in him spoke but it didn't mean that he was going to continue to be nice.
But when she said she was cold, he caved in and gave her his robe. "Here." Putting it around her to keep her warm. He then went back to his relaxing pose and looked back at the water. Nate was silent now as he thought about what had just transpired between the two of them. He felt like he was going soft and that thought made him chuckle a bit outloud.
